Informative - liked the bit about his early life - peasant stock with illiterate mother - started in agriculture then studied law - he wanted to be a prosecutor. His rise to party boss (because others were senile) was fortuitous. His wife Raissa was his rock. Was he the best politician of the 20 Century? He's up there with the very best. Perhaps more on what he thinks of his successors. Clearly not much love for Boris Y but some views on Putin would have been good. I like Werner's languid style and that Lermontov poem at the end was evocative.
