I haven't watched this movie yet but I do know that disney made the movie without Mushu, Shang and the music because they were doing an exact replica of the real life story and in the cartoon movie some people of chinese decent were very offended because they felt disney weren't taking their nation and culture very seriously and so that's why the movie is different. Yes I was upset also about how they made the movie up until my sister told me why they made it like this so please understand and don't blame disney.
