I am a true crime reader and never, ever would have purchased this book for myself. However, I received it as a Christmas gift from my daughter and thought as gesture of appreciation, I should at least give it a go. I almost put it down due to the amount of descriptive writing about the scenery, nature and characters, but after a few pages, I was pulled in. So much so that I was right there in the marsh looking at and feeling everything that Kya did. Not to mention, learning quite a few things about nature! What a great book. I wanted the story to keep on going. Thank goodness there is going to be a movie! I highly recommend this book.
