Path of Exile has truly outlasted its predecessors in the world of ARPGS. Despite it being free-to-play, Grinding Gear Games set the bar high and made it such that people would come back from time to time by releasing new league content every three months or so. It truly is a game made to be played forever.
Path of Exile has a single-player story you can play through. Regardless, you’d never feel lonely as you come across various players in town who are also crawling their way to unravel the mysteries of the forsaken land, Wraeclast. The game is all about deep character customization, finding awesome loot, leveling up, and so much more. Take caution though, as it has a very steep learning curve which includes vast modification trees and complex league mechanics. But overall, I think all of these things are what I love about Path of Exile, the fact that there’s so much stuff to learn and explore keeps sweeping me off my feet.
Staged in a dark fantasy world, Wraeclast is filled with peculiar beings. From twisted creatures to unspeakable miscreations. Each move you make could decide between life and death. Together with its spellbinding ambiance, feel deeply immersed as you undergo the campaign and grasp the lores which make up the horrors that surround you.
The Good:
Path of Exile is not made to be beginner friendly. After playing for a long period, it would hurt some people to discover that they might be playing the game wrong and are wasting enormous amounts of time. And I think that that’s a good thing. Grinding Gear Games cater to people who are willing to go the extra mile to harvest the fruits of their labor.
The Bad:
Based on the recent leagues, there may not have been sufficient skill balances. The meta had been stale or so they say. As someone who spends most of his time building characters out of skills that are almost non-viable due to its horrendous lackluster balancing. It is undeniable that a certain group of the audience may be having a rough time trying to play the game that they hold dearest.
