I love this book series and understand that the show is going to be different from the books, but the show runner, Jess Brownell, has created a dumpster fire. In my opinion it is awful. It didn’t flow, it was over hyped, Colin and Penelope didn’t get their time to shine, the very essence the the book series ignored. Season 3 should have been re-named and said it was vaguely inspired by the book series instead, so disappointed. They can take their time with season 4, it won’t be worth the watch if they repeat the way season 3 went. Which breaks my heart because I was beyond excited for it since I loved seasons 1, 2, and Queen Charlotte. Let’s hope the show runner for season 4 is someone that’s actually a fan of the book series and has heard more about it than just the characters names.
