So many movies now are so overly long, bloated, self referential, and full of cheap pop culture gags these days- not so with Lightyear! I loved that this Pixar film stands alone, apart from Toy Story. It's honestly a must for a lover of the sci-fi genre, and it has some of the best space flight of any sci-fi film I've seen. This movie held me in suspense many times, I teared up multiple times, and I laughed many times! The pace is great, the humor is good for both kids and adults, the science in the science fiction is very good and well inspired by both factual and theoretical space flight now, and it's mixed with a lot of fun design and beautiful visuals. To top it off, it's a fantastic cast and the theme is one that meant a great deal to me, and I think resonates with a lot of people.
