The first time I watched MITM was in childhood when I used to laugh at Malcolm being kind of a nerd and lame, as I grew up and almost became similar to Malcolm although I relate more to Dewey given how he misuses his innocence, and then rewatched this show, and to my happiness there couldn't have been a better revisit to indeed the subtle legendary rustic and raw humor of this show.
It highlights the true nature of the American dream as well unlike other shows and teenage dramas that sugarcoat the reality, this one is a departure from that and gives the stark reality unminced that I love about them. The middle class family struggles and dreams portrayed by each member of family uniquely and the way the characters grow is also amazing whether it is Reese realising it's actually lame to be a bully and become a nobody later, Dewey realising his innate talent for creativity and art than being a mathematical genius like Malcolm.
The fact that the mother Lois remains unchanged throughout the series is also amazing and very real showing actual households and ofcourse Hal is just a delight to watch over and over. Also, one of the first shows to give a first person camera scenes that later became a huge hit in The Office, this show is underrated and very amazing in its own space.
It is a rekindled light to relish especially for all the crazy fanatics the family goes together and even the ending where it says you can't outrun your family they will always be within you as well. Just the absolute best!
