I have never been pissed off watching any movie before or pissed off while watching one either. This movie made me feel both. The lighting was HORRIFIC. It was so dark that it made it hard to want to watch and follow along with the story or try to care about what the characters were saying. A random person whipping out a phone to record something would logically think about lighting. Even a beginner filmmaker would have common sense to want to create his masterpiece with good lighting so the film can actually be seen. When the majority of the film is in darkness, even when it doesn't have to be, it means there were extremely poor decision making that were constantly happening and it's low budget, using darkest to shroud the setting. You can use darkness to camouflage once or twice, but to rely on it incessantly for a film is a poor excuse. Lighting should be use to create mood and carry the story, not as a crutch. It's like they couldn't afford electricity for lighting but decide to always shoot at night or always make it movie nights. Respect viewing audience's eyesight at least. The second thing that was bothersome was the low sound quality or actors not enunciating or the girls speaking too fast. You can't hear clearly what the doctor and some of the patients were saying. I had to turn on subtitles just to see what was said in English and I'm fluent in English. I would like to care more about the patients if I knew what they were saying and who was who. Who was the one with the twin? Was it the ghost girl? What was that thing about when the girls got to shore and they were talking about the twins? If the actor's faces were more visible when they were in the house, aka better lighting, and there were slower pace dialog, we wound know the characters better and be more invested in the characters. Somethings didn't make sense but I followed along because I was interested in mermaids. Granted the story was original and I actually like the story, albeit a horror story, and the tail looked good and convincing and ghost girl's acting was good.

I love the All Creatures Great and Small show. I was introd. to it thru Amazon. It has everything I want: beautiful rural place, farm life, and humor. The humor was a surprise. I didn't expect there to be humor but I can't remember laughing this hard before. Samuel West and his younger brother are hilarious. Samuel in one swift breathe says "Hey not you man, the dog", or when he laughs at James in the background when he was measuring the height of the horses for the fair, ( and the whole thing abt measuring the horses too), "I am honored you asked me about the brussel sprouts", and his brother saying "what is happening here" as his brother tears the check for his tuition. I wonder if the real char. Mr. West is portraying was this funny? Was it written like this in the books, the humorous interactions between the brothers? The "Hey not you man, the dog" got me the most. Actors and writers are making gems here. The love story bet beau. Helen and James is good too. Keep seasons of this show coming. Waiting to see it on Jan 2,22, this Sunday on PBS. The title reminds me of the phrase, "God loves everyone of us, big and small". Had to comment because I love the show so much.

The premise of the movie is that you at the present time can tell what will happen a day into the future. SPOILER ALERT= Then why did the movie end the way it did with one of the characters thinking the past can be changed? You can only move forward from the present, not go back in time to change something that already happened. Did the writer, director and actors fall asleep while making the movie? The ending could have been written better, and something that made more sense following the idea of the movie. If only the ending was better...
