This book is the equivalent of a woman who's getting abused by her boyfriend telling you all the horrible abuse in detail and asking for sympathy, and then going straight back to him. This book essentially boils down to a family guy episode with more sophisticated words, and with edgy detailed abuse replacing anything remotely funny. Instead of feeling like a memoir, this book feels more like a sob story where she wants us to feel bad for her, but she does the same things over and over, like trusting her brother, and it gets so tiring you just can't keep reading. Honestly, this may be my least favorite book I've ever been forced to read by my school. And I've been forced to read the Catcher in the Rye. (Also blatant anti-homeschool propaganda, which may be a reason the school forced us to read it.)
