Always been my favourite film of all time- directed by Edward Zwick, the cinematography is absolutely stunning, as are the words and heartbreaking story line.
The story is Based on the novella by Jim Harrison, this sweeping romantic epic shows us the sadness of human self-destructiveness.
The actors are beautiful and spot on- incredible casting and it's so nostalgic of the era. The Montana land scape is almost a character on its own. The music by many favourite film composer, James Horner, is unforgettably beautiful. I was so mesmerised by it I leaned to play it by ear on the piano. It all culminates in one of the best films ever made.
