I lose myself in movies. I hope the producers see this as I think there will be a second, and I hope the second is better than the first.
First, you saw the trailer, so you saw this movie. There are no surprises. The trailer was the biggest spoiler for the viewer. Leave some of the action scenes out next time!
What draws me out of the film dream world is when something is not true to character or some gratuitous product placement,
In this film,( which I highly anticipated and payed to see on the big screen) I was drawn out of the film in a few places.
For the main character played by Jason Stathem, he protects the innocent and cares for life. So why did he ask to use the keys of a sports car at the gas station and not warn the guy to run because the gas station is going to blow up? It’s out of character. A one second, “ I suggest you run.” As he turns to go. Jason’s character is deadpan always. You could have had a smile when she invited him to dinner, or a small smile at the working with the bees, or him humming a tune or something? Perhaps a flashback to when they first met when he was sitting next to the beehives?
The main actress was stoic when she saw her Mom dead. I’m like, right. Your mom is dead, and you just get drunk later on that night. Not reality. There would be some tears, rememberances, whether male or female. So that was completely one dimensional.
And the high heeled Prada combat boots on the leading actress are cool but completely impractical and the few shots of them are really silly.
Otherwise, a fun romp in revenge. Someone in the theater, at the end, joked it was a documentary and he was taking notes. Hunter Biden, I presume?
