Long story short, it’s an artistic masterpiece in all aspects, but it gets a little complicated. Lots of things are hidden behind easy to miss details or symbolism or other ARTISTIC devices; beneath the slice of Suzu’s life lies many emotional lessons worth learning, but only if you can catch them. Even now, I’m still realizing things about the story that I didn’t notice while I was watching it.
Long story shorter, the experience was akin to reading works from edgar allen poe with a luxurious medium. Not everyone’s cup of tea, but amazing if it is.
