I’m really confused by how positive this girl was received. I didn’t like the first suicide squad and I was looking forward to James Gunn taking his shot. What came out was a promising cast, great visual effects, and an obscure villain coming to big screen! I was set and ready to take it all in. However my biggest issue is seen within the first 20 mins. Without trying to spoil it, a main character from the previous film is killed off. Now I don’t have a problem with the death of characters. However the disrespect shown to the character is absolutely amazing. This now takes a character that I was beginning you take a lot of interest in out of the DCEU completely and no more stories can be told about them. This happens CONSTANTLY throughout the movie as characters are killed off for the expense of a laugh. Character that no longer have the ability to return. This really annoyed me as without the constant deaths and forced humour I might have found myself enjoying this movie. This is not to say it was all bad as Harley Quinn was yet again expertly cast and so was pretty much every other character! But casting does not make a good movie, the characters do, and if you kill of character before their time then it’s not shocking, it’s just annoying. Overall a fun dumb time if you wanna see a movie but please don’t get invested into any character except the Clown Princess of Plot Armour!
