The characters are being way over sexualized, and dismissing peer pressure is unrealistic. I didn’t expect it (or want it) to be a copy of the original, but this cast and storyline just don’t have a natural flow.
The original definitely had physical relationships (or the Chuck Bass one night stands) as a component, but we only saw the PG-14 part of the story. The reboot however, is just too explicit: for example going down in broad daylight with people around is just unnecessary in my opinion.
Also, the unrealistic scenarios regarding peer pressure push a notion that teens a decade later are enlightened and accepting of choice to not participate. For example when offered a drink, but told there’s no pressure. I preferred the original which addressed it.
I stopped watching after 3 episodes.
