Renaissance State is a book written by Girish Kuber is not a good book to understand the history of Maharashtra. He wrote false history of Maharashtra and Chhatrapati Sambhaji. He give much more importance to Peshwas and not original Marathas who had died for Maratha kingdom. He sowing poison on every page of this book. Please try another book for knowledge about Maharashtra like Govind Pansares or Prabodhankar Thakreys or any other good authors books. And avoid this book for peace.
