I’m wincing and cringing as I watch. Don’t know how I managed to get to episode two. It’s a very superficial view of Nigeria; Michael Palin is patronising and can’t pronounce place names- I’d have thought he would have practised them before filming. His comments on slavery are a revelation-80 years old, well travelled, Cambridge educated and yet seems to know nothing of the history. This programme’s not working for me at all. It’s a real white man in Africa show!
