This game has lost all of its identity. I can understand they are trying to appeal to a new generation of gamers but the game itself doesn’t feel like a new concept nor keeps the same identity it had on previous titles. It’s lame that companions have been reduced to just another special attack within your skills and you can’t make much development on them like in previous games of the saga. We have to also acknowledge as a community what EA has become and they are just another corporation trying to milk the cow as much as they can with the least effort. Consumers shouldn’t be spending money here and we should support games like Baldur’s gate 3 or Elden Ring which clearly are projects that had clear ideas as of what type of experience they want to deliver. I can’t say for sure that all 5 star reviews are fake but what I can say is that if you look the distribution of reviews, most of them are either 5 or 1. One group is lying… in which case I would advise to wait for this game to become available at a way cheaper price if you want to avoid risks.

I cannot say I am big LOTR fan but compared to other series or even the movies you can tell that the only star aside from the minimum one that I can assign to the show is for the outstanding special effects. Sadly and to me, this is where most of the show's budget was spent on. The acting is average and the script has no essence. If I can compare, GOT's Tyrion during season 3 and 4 gave us the best dialogues ever written and acted. A single conversation scene between Tyrion and Tywin was enough to satisfy me during a single episode. Rings of Power wasn't even near to emulate such dialogues. When plot is so poor it doesn't matter how beautifully you make a volcano erupt... it is simply not going to matter to me, it was boring. There were huge gaps in the story which were convinient to what the script needed. How come Elron travels to the Dwarven mines in a change of scene and nothing was shown as to how they got there and on top of it he leaves his buddy wating outside of the mines like if they had been on their local neighborhood. The show was very poorly written. If you're looking for a show rich in intellectual content probably this isn't the show for you. If you are a person that quickly gets amused by colors and special effects and that is all you care about maybe this is your type show. I am just sad to see how something that had so much more to offer in many senses (plot, dialogues, charachter lore, etc.) was so shallowly portrayed and compared to what the industry offers nowadays I'd rather stay with GOT's final season (which sadly was utter gargage) than to this show... I honestly don't believe this show deserves a 3 star rating as the average suggests.

For gamers that are looking for a challenge and not a movie game (games that beat themselves) this is what follows. I haven't beat the game and I have already 60 hours of game play, investment-wise is a game that pays itself up. The insane quality and attention to every detail the game has is like I have an impression that every bit is very well thought of. Simply incredible, I have played so much and so much that is still left to be played and I am far from bored. As a matter of fact I wish for a DLC 'cause I can't picture an end to this incredible game.10 stars out of 5, this game is worth so much and I still payed what I pay for an average game! A real gift from Miyasaki! Great work guys and hoping this is just the beginning of what this games can become!! An absolute masterpiece!!!
