After enjoying the magic of the latest recreations of Beauty & the Beast and Mary Poppins, I was very excited for Dumbo, but now very disappointed. They had one chance. Besides, yes, some absolutely incredible CGI, and a great intro and first 1/4 of a film, it just took a dark turn at about the 1/4 mark and never brought me back in. I'm disappointed, why they had to turn it into some futuristic, dark, evil theme park weirdness, I will never know. I'm also disappointed in the music, where were all the songs? It wasn't my cup of tea, I wouldn't recommend it, especially for kids, I think it may frighten them. Enjoy the original.
