I think maybe Netflix added that phone conversation at the end to show how she isnโt a victim and that the point of the documentary was that she acted like a victim but obviously was not, plus showing her coldness.
I agree with another comment that she was most likely taking advantage of him at the beginning but then got conned in return.
She showed little empathy and seems self absorbed.
