This is hands down the worst movie I have ever watched, for so many reasons. There were script errors, sound errors, terrible acting, the lowest budget printed drop screen backgrounds, and of course the complete butchering of a monumentally respected historical figure. Anne Morgan is a horrific character. She constantly just looks annoyed, in an attempt to look smart and intrigued. Her delivery is so weak. She is narrating the film, and is googling things on a mac book. Why come back from the future with a narrative like a documentary, when it ads nothing. Nikola Tesla's character was abysmal. They made him an old crusty socially incompetent expressionless lump. There's no way Tesla didn't have a way with words, and a sense of self. So many of the other actors are actually great, and yet God himself couldn't even help this train wreck. I feel very sorry for all the professionals who were harmed in the making of this film. I don't think anybody involved with this project understood anything about electricity or engineering, this feels like somebody scraped together a story about Tesla from a few google searches, I mean you literally see them googling things in the movie. Perhaps it's a clue. Their brief and irregular attempts at humor are embarrassing to say the least. It never lands, it's a worse cringe than my mothers jokes, which leads me to the absolute last straw.... I can't even imagine what anybody was thinking when they have Tesla singing an 80's song, on a stage, with a microphone. What in God's name, honestly, why? There is NO wiggle room in this movie to do something unexpected or off-the-wall, because at no point do they earn your trust as intelligent film makers who can be trusted with creative license. Is this song supposed to be deeply connected to the films meaning? The GD montage and highlight reel of the film during the song....the whole "aaah it's so bad it's funny, isn't it guys? We are funny?" when they've BEEN so bad the entire time. I've never seen a movie so blatantly terrible, let alone about a person who has the intrigue of so many people and should be a joy to explore in a film.

I do not understand the hype. The structure of the book is so incoherent, it’s all short stories and insights that don’t go deep enough or hit hard enough to make you crave the next one. This is not a compelling read at all. There is always something irritating about reading the inner justifications that a formerly unwell person uses to feel ok about themselves moving forward. When you have to change your life and you realize how wrong you’ve been, it sure does feel profound to you, but it doesn’t necessarily have much value to another person. Especially in this case where we are to believe there’s something to be learned from an upper class American woman who’s biggest hardships were weight management, cosmetic self image nonsense, run of the mill substance abuse, and self imposed marital dysfunction. The choice to peruse a lesbian relationship with a high profile athlete as a high profile author in a culture that will offer them nothing but support for their self indulgence and tradition bucking, compels this woman to preach about bravery? Ok. This is just another example of somebody who convinces themselves of their own importance as a way to justify their choices. Im happy that these insights inspired some people, but it offers nothing to a person of depth and value. Congrats on finding your way through the hellscape of wealthy white American life with such harrowing vantage points as Paris hotel rooms, Naples beach front homes, and Oprah Winfrey’s stage. Yeah. Such dour depth in this one. There are many good reasons women are compelled to consider others in their lives, it’s not always social conditioning and first world “taming”. I don’t think we need to encourage others to disregard everybody but themselves and expect that to create a heaven on earth. I’m growing tired of women pretending they have it so hard, when we so often create our own problems in the first place, and then want to sculpt some poetic garbage social commentary to explain it all. If you don’t know how to gain the upper hand as a woman in this world, that’s on you. Don’t waste your time on this masturbatory scrap book.
