Unfortunately the book started well but then did not follow the protagonist’s journey, instead going off in other directions and apparently changing to another protagonist altogether! I can see what the author was trying to do- tell the story of the house and its owner at the centre of the story from different points of view. But there were far too many and far too many drawn out descriptive scenes with unfamiliar names. The author should have followed the required structure of a novel and introduced the many characters m in the first part of the book. There was not even a mention of the original protaganist close to the very end-and after all that, there was not a satisfying end to her story.
