Manages to make you feel like a total badass... until you pass through an Emmi door and start running for your life. At times rather difficult, but never feels unfair imo. Expect to die a bunch against bosses until you get used to attack patterns. Plenty of save locations and auto saves before any important fights so deaths are not that punishing. easy to get lost, but the world map gives hints as to where to go next if you pay attention (just got a new ability? Look for places on the map where you can use it). Overall a difficult, but fun game. Definitely a must play for fans of the genre.
