This is a weird one. It's mostly talking, it tells a pretty lack luster story as well. A lot of fans are praising it when I don't think they should. I'm seeing a frustrating amount of "oh you just didn't get it" type of rebuttals from the ones who are praising it.
In a nutshell: the story tries telling this sinister dark story, but lays it on WAYYY too thick. In that cringey anime type of way (you know what I mean 😒). And this story goes on at a snails pace. Look, it's character development & back story, I GET IT, but if you think this is the optimal way of telling a story then you need to watch other stuff. About 50 minutes in, the movie finally has an action sequence that is so unjustified and over the top that it's embarrassing. Things just happen out of no where in the last minutes and it's just so unearned and bad.
