it took me a while to 'get into' this book about the French Revolution. I hadn't hear of Camille Desmoulins but I have to admit that I found it compelling. I 'Googled' him and he existed. I won't spoil the story by saying more except that it brings Paris and the characters to life.

Disappointing. The very different characters of the sisters didn’t come through. They were supposed to be hard up but they wore lots of expensive-looking clothes. Amy was something of a rebel in the book but this didn’t come across in the film.
