Watching The Father, I noticed right from the beginning that something was missing. I couldn't keep track of who is who in the movie. The timeline is unclear. Faces, locations, and names are all mixed up. I was confused.
But that was the director's brilliant way to demonstrate Dementia to me. I was not watching someone suffer from dementia, I was in the inside position of the patient.
Losing grip on reality and your own identity is the worst thing that can happen to a person. The Father will leave you disoriented.
