Intense and emotionally stirring. Joaquin Phoenix was absolutely brilliant. It was a long look into the minds of people whom our society ignores, pushes aside and ridicules. Joker reminds us to look deeper at the hurting child, the loner, the mentally disturbed and to find a way to help them before they crack, before they go off the rails. The scenes where he goes into the slow motion dancing, when his mind had to numb itself in order to deal with the abuse he suffered as a child, we’re so haunting. I love this film and I can’t wait to see it again.
