NO SPOILER ALERTS. This documentary made me ugly cry at least 3 times. What a beautiful tribute to a life of an octopus. I always knew they were intelligent, versatile animals but to what extent, I had no idea. Having documented the same octopus for a span of a year, not only has it deepened the knowledge of Craig Foster (the man featured in this film) of nature's beauty but it has knowingly changed his life and his relationships with his family and friends. I'm truly amazed by the filmmaking and storytelling of this documentary, it's one of the best I've seen in many, many years and I really hope My Octopus Teacher gets recognition it deserves.
