Okay I find the issues that people are having with this game mildly infuriating. Even if you hate the story to give it 1 star is ludicrous for so many reasons. It’s just insulting to the people who poured themselves into this project. If you didn’t like the story or aspects of the game play, give it 3 at least for what went into this and take off 2 stars because you’re too emotionally charged to see what this game is actually about. In the first game it was an obvious theme that what Joel did was controversial, saving the life of one person while taking out a whole entire group whose goal was to save the world from the plague. Obviously we get it. Joel lost his daughter And the bond that he made with Ellie was too precious let go of. The whole point of this game was to make you question whose side is the right side. Did Joel do the right thing, did Abby have justification for what she did, did Ellie take rightful revenge in return... Being able to play both sides of the story you are forced to confront these issues. It is progressive in so many incredibly important ways. The gameplay is beautiful and I really don’t have one negative thing to say because sure there are always flaws, flaws are just compromises for other flaws. but the amount of care and detail that went into the art and the story deserves nothing less than the highest regards a game can get.
