An incredible improvement over the theatrical version, yet still has flaws. The most obvious thing is the sub par cgi, which looks “muddy” and out of focus most of the time. Second, more is not necessarily better, because at times the story seems to meander without a purpose other than to showcase additional footage or trump scenes that were re filmed in the original cut. However, it is still a fun ride. There is much needed character development that was missing from the original which allows you to have more compassion for the heroes. One of the final scenes when Bruce Wayne is dreaming about a scorched earth in the future and Jerod Leto returns to redeem his portrayal of The Joker is fantastic and could have potentially, based on some of the dialogue, set up a foray into DC’s Crisis On Infinite Earths comic series from the 1980’s in a sequel that never happened. Overall it is worth a watch, maybe not in one sitting though.
