I tried, I watched a number of episodes (4.5 to be exact), and just couldn't get past how unsympathetic and irritating a character Claire is. She's 200 years from home, yet acts like everyone owes her something. She's rude, angry, and her constant lecturing and lashing out at everything the men were doing, was not only tiring, but if this weren't a scripted show, she'd have been killed early on, cause why would they put up with someone like her, especially considering the role of women in that era. I just couldn't relate to her being a smart lady, from modern times, yet be so naive or full of herself, to think she could act like a 20th century feminist, two centuries ago. Not only was it not strategic, hard to enlist allies when you're always angry, but also, not a great way to stay alive, as anyone could end her life at any moment. Plus, she acted like an entitled, spoiled member of a royal family, I had to stop, her incessant judgmental rudeness was too much, & there's so many other shows worth watching...

I must've read this when it first came out, in the early '70s. I had transitioned to a vegetarian diet, and found this little book to be highly informative, of course humorous as well, and a great read for those thinking about moving towards a healthier diet and lifestyle. This used to be in paperback, and selling for a buck each, so I'd buy half-a-dozen at a time, and just give them to friends who were contemplating making a change. I should've stockpiled them since today, if you can even find one, they're selling for 100 times that! I was nicely surprised to see it's now available as an ebook, and I can't recommend this enough. It will be a fun read, and may just inspire even more people to begin leading a healthier life.
