I loved this movie...but need to point out that this movie was NOT about immigrants coming over "the right way " and making it "on their own". Inge came over without the "right" papers...she could not even get married. They also received $7,000 from their neighbors...so, they had a little help ( and yes, I do understand that Olaf only needed help because he saved his friends farm, but if he did get the help from his neighbors, he could have lost his sweet land.) I think the movie was more about love , perseverance, forgiveness, being neighborly, love of country, love of land...no matter where you came from or how you came to be a citizen.
