Absolutely fantastic film. Do yourself a favour and watch it.
Last night we went to see “Judy” at the Palace Cinema in Cinderford. I was a little luke warm about it but I couldn’t have been more wrong. It is an absolutely fabulous film, so poignant, my heart was breaking for her as her life was turned into a car crash from childhood. The projectionist kept the lights down while the credits rolled at the end which I think was an important part of the experience, it gave you a minute to just digest the story you had just seen.
The Palace cinema (or should that be picture house?) is fabulous, it was built in 1910 and is still very original, you buy your ticket from a little window, the snack shop is the same price as a high street shop not the ridiculous prices in a chain cinema. It retains many of its original features and I loved the slightly faded splendour feeling of it. It’s a family run concern and all the better for it. Best of all £4 a ticket! Well worth the hour drive over the local Vue cinema.
