My wife and I have been regular viewers of your programme Songs of Praise. We have admired how the format has changed over the years in order for the programme to stay abrest of the changes in our society that have been witnessed over time.HOWEVER of late we have been saddened by the way in whuich a number of female and male singers are presented in a "cebrity"/ "showbiz" fashion which we feel trivialises the lyricss which are being presented to the general public. Do we really have to be presented with the "glamour" of the' evening wear type presntation complete with wind machine effects and general show biz raz- a- ma- taz when there are so many other interesting facets of church life being played out in the communitty and indeed in communications from the Archbishop of Canterbury and other denomination leaders.Less of the 'glitz' please more of the reality.!
