The first season (five stars) was a great story, very funny, well thought out, and deep at the same time. The second season (no stars) was the biggest sophomore season letdown of all time. The second season is simple statement of "yay homosexuality! it is great!". That is fine, but they left out a decent story. The ending was a huge, ridiculous resolution. I am done.

Let me say first that when I watched the first three episodes from Season 1, I dropped it due to my own disability; I have a hard time remembering names. This series has the most main characters of anything I have ever watched. Plus, the fact that this show has voice-over in English (filmed in German) irked me. However, 2 months later, my curiosity got the best of me and I continued, resenting the fact that this series was like a college course I had to study for due to it's complexity. I found the effort very rewarding. Very well written, directed and produced; intriguing, and fast pace yet emotionally engrossing. Do not fear that this is just a science fiction series - it is not. It is a fully rewarding experience.
