The game (on Xbox 1 in my experience) was admittedly unstable but at its core incredibly fun at the same time as being definitively a battlefield game, DICE keep at it this game it is a real diamond in the rough, much like many battlefield game on release.
My main issues weren't really with lag but with the changes in sniping mechanics but I adjusted to them over time and honestly, probably due to the reduced number of players in a server, BF2042 on Xbox one was a highly enjoyable and far from unplayable experience for me.
I admit my choice of platform has effected this review but I think that the overwhelming negativity is unproductively aimed at DICE's workers when their developers have worked tirelessly at this game we should have discourse and discussion over the games state but we cant blame the way companies economics function on the people who make the games we love so much.
In short, good game but it needs time
