If you have read the book, don't watch the movie, and vice versa. The movie is very underwhelming. I don't know how it feels watching it when you haven't read the book. But for me, it lacked substance. I doubt people that watched the movie without having read the book even understood what was happening. There was no chemistry between Lou and Will like in the book and the movie fails to show us Will's wit and intelligence. And it also fails to show us WHY THEY FALL IN LOVE. Also very important factors were omitted. Like how Will's parents practically hate each other or how Patrick was a loser boyfriend. We needed that to show how Lou gets so easily drawn to Will. The movie was very underwhelming for me. I would suggest reading the book. I'm so disappointed
