After reading some of the other reviews, I think people are being too hard on this movie. It's a lot better than some of those unnecessarily negative reviews may lead on, although it's a little further from perfect than I'd like.
The writing is a major question mark for the movie. The plot moves along too quickly in the first half and kind of drags on in the second half to the point where you almost want to skip certain scenes. After watching you'll realize it should be the other way around. More time could've been spent on some of the major plot points of the film. Next, the authenticity of the film and it's characters is constantly questioned as you ask whether certain scenes would play out the way they do in reality. Specifically the distopian/worst case scenario series of events that the movie turns out to be. The climax is great as expected although the nose dive into an apocalyptic type movie is definitely unnecessary. I know people don't like happy endings these days but COME ON. By the end of the movie it just leaves you trying to figure what the point of it was exactly. The director definitely isn't focused on the main story line but perhaps more on the underlying issues and sub conflicts, which is kind of misleading in the slightest.
However it's still a great, somewhat action packed, Thriller. It's not really predictable at all and they did a great job of avoiding cliches seen in other projects with the same storyline. The originality in the project is to be commended and the attention to detail is awesome.
In conclusion, Triple Frontier is a great and borderline must-watch Netflix Original. It gets a generous 7/10 from me.
