I actually do not care what anyone says about the continuity of the Star Wars lore because this show stands apart from the rest of the franchise. From a casual Star Wars fan, it was entertaining, the cinematography was beautiful, and the angst was great.
I found the twins to be complicated and interesting characters both individually and relationship-wise, even if some reviews here say they were forgettable. They were the main characters!!
The themes confronted the righteousness of the Jedi that I found went unnoticed in other Star Wars pieces. This show challenged the existence of a truly, undeniably good organization when strong emotions and power still influence its members. In this show, the Jedi fail the twins (and I infer Quimir as well) *morally*. This added so much more depth to the Star Wars Universe to me. My sister had me watch every movie (I did not watch any of the shows other than Mando, so my frame of reference is reasonable but not expansive) and I always found the Jedi and the Sith so boring. Yes, in the grand scheme of things, the Resistance and the Jedi are the good in this universe but I found their constant moral correctness very one-dimensional.
"The Stranger" is so cool and the fighting choreography really stunned me. I was a bit confused on the motivation to grow his power with an acolyte, but these will be questions answered in season two with the dynamic introduced between him and the green Jedi (I forgot her name).
Sure, the dialogue was a bit stale, but actors made amazing character choices and delivered the lines in ways that brought such robotic diction to life. I would love to see more of this show and follow how these characters develop. PLEASE MAKE A SEASON TWO!!
