I would have given the movie 4/5 stars if the producers of the movie had done a bit of research on Africans. The main character travelled to Cape Town, that is in South Africa and individuals from Cape Town dont necessarily have the accent they gave Mthumbi. Basically Mthumbi had an African accent, not a “South” African one. It’s a zero from me on that department. As a South African I’m deeply disappointed at how the producers of the movie did little to no research on South African cultures. Not even usage of South African languages like Zulu, Xhosa, Setswana, Ndebele, to name a few, was used. Everytime Mthumbi spoke, it irritated me only because that’s not how we speak in South Africa. Also the name Mthumbi is not even South African. Also the character throughout the movie kept saying “in Africa we do this…etc etc “ , no we don’t!
