This book is an interesting history about West Gippsland, where I have in recent years made my home. It tells us a lot about the local indigenous population whose history we weren't told about in Australian History at school. Daryl Tonkin speaks about his interaction with the locals who he accepted as his own family and workmates. I had been visiting this area for the best part of 40 years but not heard these stories. Now that I live here I want to find out more. I've lent my books to several friends and they too were interested to hear this bit of unknown history.
I look forward to obtaining Jackson's Track Revisited.
