I really forgot Renee was not Judy, her performance was a transformation. I was sad for most of the movie, Judy's struggles were unfair maybe a sign of the times. We women have it better now, right? Judy's fragility against money problems and addictions, though not all of which were of her makeung were depressing. Studio boss Louis B Mayer was a self serving SOB that alwzys had unfair rules for childhood Judy to follow, a pill to go to sleep, diet pill to stop hunger. Judy's user husbands that stole her money's through her lifE was sadly predictable.
