Though the visual part of this game is amazing with an up to date gaming system, it
suffers from what I'll call 'developer neglect'. This simulation program has been plagued
with software issues from day 1. Personally, I think it was never ready for release (and still isn't).
Updates to the program are frequent, and are usually very large in size (GBs), take a long time
to install (Hours), and usually replace one problem with another, rather than just fixing a problem.
Load times from desktop are too long as well. Click the Icon to start the game, and it takes
several seconds to show it is running, long enough that you'll think it never started, and click
the icon again.
Game play is buggy, and though the community (thankfully) is quick to react to remedy most of these
bugs, users shouldn't have to figure out how to work around programming deficiencies.
After a year, I no longer want to see an update available, because I really don't feel like relearning
how to work around a whole new set of bugs nor do I feel like waiting, and waiting for the update
to install. Updates usually take more time than I have to fly, so I never get to fly on update day.
Top tier of this game is over $100 US. Add-ons can run the bill up quickly. I just don't think
the bang for buck is in MSFS 2020, which is sad... As more and more 3rd party add ons become
available, I just can't qualify spending more on a Simulator that takes hours to fix itself, and
then doesn't... is riddled with issues... and often turns anticipation into frustration.
