This film is tedious. First it starts off with Sally Hawkins in a sex scene with herself. I hate films that use this cheap trick to get you to watch it. As the critics say it is "visually stunning". But where are the interesting characters? Where is the plot? It's so tired and hackneyed: girl falls for monster from the Black Lagoon, which by the way this monster is a copy of. (Check it out.) Her husband is just a dull wimp. The evil guy doesn't make sense. Why is he unfeeling? The monster just eats eggs. Yawn. There's no need to watch this to the end, you can predict the outcome from the moment the monster gets tortured with a cattle prod.
