A good suspense drama does several things: draws you in with urgent questions, like the ones the protagonist is trying to answer. Deadlines--get it done before it's too late, Lots at stake---like the US government. Run 'em up a tree, then blow up the tree for a seemingly hopeless situation. Lots of different ways the bad guys can come at you. Smart people, people who love family, country, etc and are willing to sacrifice it all. Gives audience a stake in the game, makes them care. Shows how powerless we all really are but how powerful we are too. Makes you want to kick hell out of the villains and get frustrated at how clever they are. This show does it all and has Keifer Sutherland too
