I had never seen this 2013 movie version before , only the 1973 version with Robert Redford and Mia Farrow. The latter was never a favorite of mine as I thought Mia Farrow was miscast as Daisy. But this newer version was beyond my expectations. Leonardo DiCaprio was mesmerizing as Gatsby. Tobey Maguire exceptional. The movie with its wonderful cinematography, costuming, acting , will now forever be a favorite of mine. I read The Great Gatsby as a teen but this movie exemplified all that I imagine F. Scott Fitzgerald intended in the writing of his famous book.
