After reading The Age of Miracles a couple times and loving it, I was excited to start The Dreamers. I was hooked from the earliest pages. The author has an uncanny ability to provoke strong emotional responses with brilliantly written passages that touch on children, illness and aging. I found myself choked up numerous times especially toward the end. Some call the end anti-climactic but I found it very clever. It left me in a very thoughtful mood and honestly made me want to go home and hug my wife and son.
