A nighttime soap opera but even more cartoonish. After hearing so much about the popularity of the show, my wife and I (who both grew up in MT) have forced ourselves to watch the first two seasons and still don’t give a Rip (pun intended) about these characters due to the poor writing. The plots are unbelievable and bear no resemblance to life in MT.

Outstanding acting performances are overshadowed by a tired plot about the bleakness of the human condition. It pretends to be profound by being an unsolvable riddle while it seems to me to be the product of a smug pseudointellectual who believes he has created art by creating something abstract. The poor plot resolution is exacerbated by too many scenes that are belabored.
