*_Apocalypto through my eyes*_
Apocalypto, a Greek word which means uncover or new beginning. Mel Gibson, the director justifies the title through the protagonist Rudy
Youngblood at the climax.
A crew tribals hunt the boar and shares it's organs as a triumph for mouth to feed. It somehow connects to the main plot. That is hunting the men and take out the body organs live, to offer God in Mayan civilization is really brutal and barbaric.
Jaguar Paw and his tribal men lives in peace in the dense rainforest till some warriors invade their clan.
The brutal attack leads to series of deaths, group rape, devastation of their clan.
The Hero Jaguar Paw who somehow manages to hide his loving son and wife in a dried-up well nearby. He promises them will come back to rescue them. The fate has another shade he is also captive along with others.
The Antoganist who cuts the throat of his father Flint sky disturbs him.
The warriors set captive the tribals tying their arms and neck to bamboo. The younger ones are left behind, the girl, elder among those bade goodbye assuring she would lookafter the rest of others.
The Perilious journey starts with some ups and downs. Where the men stands with men in such situations and shows emotions which is almost evaporated in the warriors.
On their path they come across a diseased little girl (affected by small pox) crying before the dead corpse of her mother👩 and also she looks into the eyes of hero foretells the future.
The Mayan abode is full of scary, where the aged men are begging for food, for survival in a drought land. The lady split the chewing piece of fruit into a bowl of the starving old man represents the barbaric attitude of Mayans.
The young captive women sells publicly like dumb animals before their partners is pathetic.
The live massacre of the captive is horrible to watch as they took out the heart alive from human body to lure the God.
The roll down of heads from the pyramids amidst the cheer of massive people is the darkest part of the movie. The heads are set on sticks as totems.
The Sun eclipse fortunately saves jaguar at the right time.
Then starts the adventurous chase. The head of Mayans instructs to kill the rest. The brutal invaders lefts the captives to run into forest to save their lives in an open field of 200mtr stretch and kills them with arrows spears and stones.
The Hero anyhow is manages to reach the bay of the landmark, with an arrow sticks to his right part of the chest, he falls apart with pain. The Antogonist' s son who is guarding the field holding the weapon comes to kill him but jaguar cuts his throat with the arrow and escapes.
How can the leader, moreover a father bears this?
He with boiling rage says " I going to peel of his skin and make him watch me wear it"
He along with other warriors chases after jaguar Paw but he escape by jumping into the waterfall.
The brave young man says " I am not afraid, I am Jaguar Paw the son of Flint Sky. My father haunted this father before me."
They chases him but with an gorilla war skill he kills them one after another.
Bravo!!! Jaguar Paw's wife gives birth in the well in an critical situation touches my heart.
Then it seems to be an happy ending but the restlessness haunts the tribals as the Europeans invades the islands in their ships🚢.
