I was set to not like this but after reading reviews I thought I would give it a chance. As others have mentioned, the scenery is spectacular. So many different types of scenes and all of them rich and full. That alone makes it worthwhile. I’m still getting used to the characters and other than “Nori” haven’t fallen in love with the main characters. Galadriel isn’t a warm person but perhaps that’s just her under so much pressure since she doesn’t seem to have much support from her peers. By the 2nd episode, I knew I was hooked, I’ve started caring about the different beings and looking forward to who will become heroes and/or villains. As a lover of fantasy, I think I will enjoy watching these beautiful episodes.

I watched the first four episodes the. Skipped to the last because I was so bored. I still couldn’t pay attention to the last episode so it didn’t make sense…but i didn’t care.

A cold gray cloudy day, a ferry on its way to an institution for the criminally insane on an island . . . That’s how this movie begins. I have watched this movie about 4 times because it’s fascinating and totally unpredictable. Leonardo DiCaprio and Mark Ruffalo were brilliant as was Ben Kingsley and the whole cast. The setting is moody and dark and yet there are green lawns with colorful flowers against the gray skies. I get something more each time I watch this movie and even though I know the ending, I’m still fascinated. This is an intelligent movie that requires paying attention because the clues are everywhere. Brilliant, this movie is one of my favorites.

So far, I’m loving this. I don’t know why reviews saying that they are taking to long to show the aliens; the stories are all very human and how people would behave if their world was turned upside down. You try first to make sense of what is going on and then you cope the best you know how when nothing in your frame of reference is happening. It brings to mind the tv series “Falling Skies”. Which I thought was the best sci-fi series ever so I’m definitely sticking around to see what’s going on. I think it’s well worth watching if you are a. Sci-fi fan.

I remember this show; one of the best sci-fi alien shows ever. Lots of heart and great stories and the aliens were brilliantly done. Glad to see it’s showing on HBO max.

I loved this movie and I thought the acting was amazing. Some people didn’t like the ending but I felt that it was true to life.

I have read the book, The Stand, about 4 times over the past 30 years (including the audio book) and it is my favorite Stephen King book. (Salem’s Lot being 2nd), I really liked the original movie with Gary Senise, Molly Ringwald, Rob Lowe, Bill Fagerbakke, to name a few and what’s most important is that these were people we liked, we cared about them. In this new series, none of the people are really likable, the new Nick has zero likability. To be fair, the part of Harold was well cast and I’m getting used to the new Tom Cullen but the rest of the cast is just blah, not their fault. I love Alexander Skarsgard and James Mardsen but they seem to be sleep walking through their rolls. The episodes do seem to be improving ( just watched episode 6) and I’m hoping the “new ending” will not overly disappoint. I think I’m a masochist to keep watching but since I love the book, I’m hopeful I start to care, if I hate it, well I’ll just read the book again!

So far, I’m intrigued. I watched the first two episodes and, to me, the show has a “lost” (the show) vibe where nothing is as it seems and it seems like it’s just going to get weirder, in a good way.

I was looking forward to the “generation q” but so disappointed in first two episodes. I thought there would be more new people but it’s the same old self righteous Bette Porter, running for mayor of LA no less. Alice is self centered and bitchy as usual and the new characters have no energy to speak of, the sex is gratuitous at best. The best part was Shane of course but even her energy seems low. Being that I was a big fan of the original L Word I will keep watching and hopefully it will get better.
