Nicely written, easy to follow, each chapter introduces a new character and Yaa Gyasi quickly summarizes the relationship to the previous characters. RECOMMENDED!!

The show is nothing like the movie or what we knew of selena; her hair, songs, outfits and her start has changed badly. The series is only good if you never watched the movie, in quarantine with nothing else to watch, and think a curly/wild hair Mexican should play Selena, instead of a Puerto Rican that manged and tamed her natural curls (promoted as main difference online). Netflix and the family was really desperate and closed their eyes on the horrible hair and fashion. Disappointed.
